Terror threat awareness was already part of the licence-linked qualifications. The new qualifications include the latest guidance from both the National Counter Terrorism Security Office and the Centre for Protection of National Infrastructure.
Top-up qualifications also contain updated terror threat content for door supervisors and security officers.
The new assessments include questions relating to counter-terrorism.
We have created an e-learning course called ACT Security that is specifically designed for security operatives. We have authorised training providers to accept your ACT Awareness and ACT Security certificates as evidence of your participation in the course.

People working in the private security industry can get free online counter-terrorism training from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO).
ACT Awareness is one of a range of courses built to support the Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) initiative. It takes around 45 minutes to complete.
ACT Security is a specialised training course for front line security operatives. It takes around 75 minutes to complete. The course provides up-to-date counter-terrorism knowledge that will help you prepare for, and respond to, terrorist incidents whilst on duty.
SIA licence-linked qualifications include a section on terror threat awareness. Together, the 2 ACT e-learning courses cover this material. So, you will not need to take that part of the training if you:
Contact your local counter-terrorism security adviser to learn about counter-terrorism training opportunities in your area.
Make sure you stay up to date with government advice and guidance relating to counter-terrorism and security.
